These pants are inspired by the 2006 Sofia Coppola film that showed the life of Marie Antoinette with illuminating colour, costume, and storytelling. Each garment tells a part of Antoinette's story while also adding inclusivity and sustainability.
This is my technical for my upcycled top, where I took worn, stained, unwanted garments and turned them into a a new top. This top is inspired by Marie Antoinette's bridal gown as a symbol of her new role as Queen of France. This top is also gender-neutral to fit everyone.

There were the garments used for the upcycled top, one satin and one lace. Both had quite a few stains and the lace top had severe rips.
This is the final garment of the upcycled top.

This is the technical drawing for my pant design which will be made from 100% linen and French lace. This design is inspired by the end of Marie Antoinette's reign as Queen, leading up to her execution. That time was filled with sorrow and despair for her but was also a time of success for the people of France. This design is gender-neutral.
The pant muslin for the design. There were quite a few errors but all easy to fix in the final design.

The final design, 100% black linen, light weave. Featuring wooden buttons and a leather tag.
